Every piece we work on starts with an amazing animal, which we hand pick from thousands of archived insect specimen preparations.

Since 1999, we work closely with the Viennese natural history museum and are extremely grateful to have access to one of the most amazing and well-preserved collections in the world.

Once we find a piece, we take it to our studio, clean and prepare it before setting up the lighting.

After the subject is lit, it is photographed between 3 – 15.000 times, moving the camera fractions of a millimetre (10 microns to be exact) at a time. This is a time consuming and filigree process, every photo needs perfect focus.

Several weeks of work later, when all photos are taken, they are stitched together using a semi-automated computer program, into one, amazing art piece. A homage to the creature, nature and life.

The final art piece is an extremely high resolution image.

Once we receive your order, we hand process your image and print it with the finest inks on coarse, thick paper.

We have developed a special technique for printing. Our pieces will last in true color for over 100 years.

All orders are processed and manually quality controlled. The typical turn over time from receiving your order until we print, package and prepare it for shipping is 14 days.

It’s really hard to show the effect these pictures have on people via a website. The quality is so incredibly high. The images are printed at almost any size without any visible print raster. The colors of the animals shine and it almost feels like they are crawling off the page – in oversize.
